Wednesday Feb. 10th 2010 - Ice Storm

Welcome to the great Blizzard of 2010...

As brethren were set to pour in from all over the country to attend this years masonic week, the DC area got hit with the worst winter weather in recorded history. Ever. Reed and I are usually in the thick of things by now in Alexandria but alas, I am still at home waiting for the snow to end. Reed not here yet, his flight was delayed and scheduled to land. More to come...

2009 AMD Masonic Week

Masonic week has come and gone by the time we hunker down to write this, our yearly synopsis.

For me, Justin, I can tell you it's been one hell of a year...
Career changes, personal life changes, my son started school, and a BIG change in the Whitehouse. I guess this year for me has been one of significant transitions and these two weeks have been a great chance to step outside of the normal routine and reflect on the previous year.
I started off this transitory state around April of '08, by having to make a tough career choice, due to the economy, that has been very good to me so far. I went from being a blue collar Woodworker/Tradesman to a self employed Web Designer. I have had the chance to work many wonderful brothers do my little part to help change the face of Freemasonry on the Internet.
My son Bryan started Kindergarten this year.. where does the time go? I remember as a new dad getting him to sleep in his PJ's with a warm bottle...

For me, Reed, I can say that it is turning out to be a busy year not only Masonicly but with my two Unions as well. This year I have taken the roll of Excellent Companion High Priest of my Royal Arch Chapter, Emminant Commander of my Commandery, Deputy Master of my R&SM Cryptic Council as well as Worthy Matron of my OES Chapter. That and I am also several appointed offices in other bodies as well. I am on the executive board of both I.A.T.S.E Locals 99 and 838. I am the Corresponding Secretary of Local 99 as well as a Vice President and Training Coordinator for Local 838. Will all of these meetings that take up my free time, it seems to others like all I do is meetings and work. I do take a vacation every now and again and one of my regular ones is Masonic Week.

(We both write the blog so the first person view often changes. Sorry if there is any confusion.)

February 10/11th, 2009 - A Dulles Arrival.

Tuesday started off like any other normal day, the sun rose up and the birds were chirping, but this day was to kick off a two week long masonic free for all Reed and I call "Masonic Week". AMD Week, or All Masonic Week as it is called is a four day long gathering of Freemasons from all across the country who descend upon the Nation's Capitol for fun, free drinks, and High Degrees of Freemasonry. Reed flew into Dulles Airport, Virginia, at 1:10am after about 3 hours of push-backs, delays, and a de-icing. We arrived at my home, in southern Maryland, around 3 am after a much needed pit stop and some coffee.

February 12th, 2009

We got up and headed to the hotel in Alexandria VA from Justin's house in Maryland. I was hoping to get to the Commandery meeting at 10am but the amount of time that I had to sleep and the journey there didn't permit. The next thing that I wanted to do was the "Sovereign Order of Knights Preceptor" at 4:30 later in the afternoon. We went to lunch with Glen Cook who is the JR PGWM of Utah. Yes, Glen, I still owe you a diet Coke. We just kind of waited around the hotel talking to people until we could check in at 3pm. We bumped into our good friend Balvin and found out that Rashied who was going to speak later that night at Hiram-Takoma Lodge #10. Justin when to go pick up Rashied, I ended up having having a drink with Glen and Tom Jackson who is the Executive Secratary for World Conference of Grand Lodges and also visited my Grand Lodge Communication to give us a very fine talk while he was in Utah. After our beverages of choice Glen and I bid Tom farewell for the moment as we were about to step into the Knights Preceptor Degree. Glen Cook and I joined the Knight Masons together last year and Knights Preceptor together today. It was nice to go though another order together with him. It was a neat degree and we got these awfully big jewels to wear about our necks the next time we get to a meeting.

Later that evening...

Rashied, Glen, Justin and I were then off to hear Wor.'. Br.'. Rashied Al Bey's "A Beautiful System" as modified to accomidate the ladies and families of the Brethren of Hiram-Takoma after business was cunducted and we called off.

After Lodge we went back to the hotel for a drink and got to hang out with our new friend Marcel who is the Worshipful Master of Hiram-Takoma. We visited several of the hospitality rooms. The one we ended up in the most that evening was The Masonic Society and The Knight Mason rooms.

February 13th, 2009

Friday started early for me, I went to the Knight Mason meeting while Justin go to sleep in. My friend from Utah, Blaine H. Simons was Excellent Chief of that council. He got to open the meeting and then we did a bit of business and then had elections.
It was good to see Blaine in the East at a meeting at Masonic Week. After we got out of the Great Chief's Council "0" and Grand Council Knight Masons of the USA meetings which were a joint meeting that took about an hour and a half we went to Society of Blue Friars where Yasha Beresiner spoke to us mostly about the time period of 1717-1723, Anderson's Constitutions and how Scottish Freemasonry effected them. You can find an index of Anderson's Constitutions here.

We were then off the Masonic Light no host lunch. We had a good time eating with the group. Justin got to talk with Glen and Piers Vaughan. While I made new friends with MW Steven Smith and Andre Gregoire both of RI, who I ended up sitting by for lunch or in a meeting several times. I also talked with Rashied and Balvin. It was good for Janet Wintermute to save us seats again.

We just had a good time talking to guys in the lobby or hospitality suites until we went to The Masonic Society's First Circle gathering where we go to hear Yasha Beresiner give a very entertaining talk.
We were fortunate to be able to sit with the Hodapps. I had fun talking to Chris' wife while he was up and about taking care of business while we ate dinner.

After dinner I went to “Royal Order of Masonic Knights of the Scarlet Cord” degree of the first grade. There were about 170 or so people at this degree. I got to see a friend of mine named Todd Kissam who I had not seen since I had met him in Colorado Springs. We were in Colorado Springs for a Masonic Baptism. Justin's Son Bryan was one of the kids baptized there. I was lucky enough to stay at Tim Hogan's house for the event and that is were I really got to know Todd.

After the degree I went to go find Justin and we were off to socializing and making more friends. We really got to know Marcel while talking with him that evening as well. It was then that we told him that we planned on going to the Lodge of the Nine Muses the next and he told us that he would join us.

February 14th, 2009

Eight AM comes early for Justin after staying up til 4 in the morning the night before, but he manages to roll out of bed and make it to the Grand College of Rites at 8:30. To read about the meeting read Jay Hochburg's in depth synopsis here. Next, Justin managed to make it to the Nine Muses Council No. 13.

Reed went to Grand Master's Council AMD before lunch. "It was one of the easiest tyling jobs that I had". It was an amusing meeting as Russ the Sovereign Master was cracking jokes the whole time that he was conducting the meeting. I had lots of fun. We concluded with our installation. At the end was the usual ritual of "You will prove your proficiency in your new office by finding your chair." I did so by switching seats to the dais as the new Chaplain and gave the closing prayer per my Utah Ritual. "

We then went to the Scottish Rite Research Society luncheon where we sat with Anrde, Steve, Balvin and Rashied again. It was a good educational seminar with Arturo de Hoyos answering questions concerning the latest volume of Heredom.

Reed was then off to the Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees of the USA. I got to sit next to Makia Pai who is a Worshipful Master in Pennsylvania. He told me that I was the only Mason he had met with longer hair than him.

When we went to the AMD Banquet I was able to sit next to Makia again and with the other Brothers there from Ohio and California talked about the differences of ritual until our speakers started their talks. Makia enlightened us on how really different Pennsylvania Ritual is. Who would have though there was a jurisdiction in the USA that didn't have a winding staircase and a middle chamber or the four cardinal virtues.

After the Banquet we met one our facebook friends in person, Tony LaCava. It was nice to get to finally talk to him face to face. We also got to meet another online friend that is mostly known as Dr. Strange from The Sanctum Sanctorum. Reed took a few days to make the connection between "Dr. Strange" and who he is in real life, I found that a little amusing. You know, it really is great meeting up with more Masons or "E-Masons" you meet online, there really should be a central gathering to cater to those brethren who are active on the Internet. I guess being online you could just hold the gathering online but a meet and greet at Masonic Week would be nice... I'll store that away for future use ;)

We were then off to The Masonic Society hospitality room again for more fellowship. What a way to spend Valentines Day.

February 15th, 2009

Sunday was a great brunch at Zanhiser's Dry Dock Restaurant on Solomon's Island.

February 16th, 2009

Monday was studying ritual for the Middle Chamber of the Fellowcraft Degree... Justin being Senior Deacon of his lodge was to confer the degree the following night.

February 17th, 2009

Most of Tuesday was spent writing this blog and studying for the fellowcraft degree...
After some minor confusion, and a babysitter backing out on us, we ended up having to sushi after we couldn't find a sitter on such short notice for Justin's son Bryan. So Reed missed a chance to see a Fellow Craft degree. There is always next year.

February 18th, 2009

We attended The Lodge of Nine Muses #1776 in DC. Upon arrival we met Marcel, our friend and past Masonic Week compatriot, LeRoy Graefe there. They called off quickly so that WM Brian Patten, an Astrophysicist, could give us a great lecture about "A Point Within A Circle." Our lecturer thoroughly discussed his personal and professional take on the subject, drawing on physical cues from the cosmos, as well as a scientific breakdown of the philosophy behind a point within a circle. It was a great educational feature, Reed was thoroughly impressed and inspired. After closing, most of the took a quick stroll down the street to a wonderful Spanish restaurant for festive board. Reed was so inspired he spent the better part of the night rethinking his place in the universe and studying similar alchemical slides related to the nights lecture.

"On the drive home I looked up at the stars with a new found wonder."

February 19th, 2009

Thursday night we traveled once again to Alexandria VA for lodge at the George Washington Masonic Memorial at Andrew Jackson Lodge #120. It was an... interesting... meeting, they were electing their District Deputy Grand Master.

February 20th, 2009

We listened to Masonic pod casts all day and relaxed. We did talk to Eric Diamond of X-Oriente on skype when we couldn't get the player to work and he fixed the problem very quickly so we could listen to the most current episode. If you haven't met him he is a great guy and Brother.
Some of the other more notable pod casts that we listened to were The Setting Maul, a very funny one and Masonic Central that has some very good interviews.

February 21st, 2009

Saturday and Departure.
Saturday morning ended up being rather hectic. Justin had to go fix a lodge member's computer in the morning while Reed packed for the flight home. We ended up leaving too late to visit the monuments in DC. I, Justin, being a DC area native still haven't visited them yet and it would have been a treat for us both. I think I will wait again til next year so we both can see them for he first time. Reeds Dulles departure went smooth.

I had a good nap while going to Denver and a good 3 hour layover there. Then it was a short flight to SLC. I was picked up from the airport and made it home in time to get about 4 hours sleep before I had to work the next day.

Till next year...

Masonic Week 2008

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 - Arrival

Reed got off of the plane at BWI looking for Justin in the same spot he had been in the year before. Since he was not in that same spot he almost bumped into him while looking up to see which was the baggage claim was thinking he might be there. Justin then help Reed load his bags into the car and they were off to Justin's house in Maryland.

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 - Lectures at BBF and Rides for Grand Officers

We got a late start due to Reed's jet lag. That was ok though, all we had to do was pick up MWB Glen Cook the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Utah and IPM of Sentinel Lodge 4707 UGLE, WB Blaine H. Simons RWPGSec of Utah and Past President of Cabiri International and Gerald Cochrane Deputy District Grand Master of Oregon up from the hotel in time to get to Benjamin Brown French Lodge No. 15 in time for dinner before Lodge. It was a little bit of a squeeze with 3 grown men in the back seat, but we didn't have far to go. I have to say that the meal that we had at BBF was one of the best meals I have had before a Lodge meeting (as I, Reed, write this Justin concurs whole-heartedly). The Lodge was called to order on the Entered Apprentice Degree. Mighty fine work I must note, their floor-work was pristine, and I recommend ANYONE to this lodge. The Lodge was called from Labor to Refreshment so that the Lodge could bring in the non Masons to listen to a lecture by ILL:. RONALD A. SEALE, 33ยบ the SGC of the AASR-SJ. He gave a talk on "The Conundrum of Conflicting Visions" which stated that when we stop seeing each other as members and see each other as Brothers we become better Masons. It was well presented and Reed enjoys seeing him speak as he has done so many a time, (Justin cannot ramble on enough about how well the lecture was presented). Reed got to meet WB Rashied Sherrieff Al-Bey who he had talked started talking with on Masonic Light (a yahoo group for Masons of all types) many years ago. We also got to meet Allesandro Gagliardi of NY and Steve Brettell of Maryland mutual friends on The Working Tools Magazines social group. We also meet new friends WB Balvin Dunn of NY and Joby Dixon of D.C. who are on The Sanctum Sanctorum though we had not talked with them much there. They are all great sites and all great Brothers. Glen caught a ride with one of the Brothers from the Lodge back to the hotel. Our ride back to the hotel was not so cramped only being Reed, Justin, RWB Blaine and MW Gerry. We dropped the Worshipful brothers off and headed back to Maryland.

Thursday, February 6th, 2008 - Masonic Week Officially Begins

We woke up late and drove to Alexandria with our luggage ready to check into the hotel. Last year it was to much to drive home every night so we decided to stay at the hotel Thursday and Friday nights. We had lunch and hung out in the hospitality suites until we could check into the hotel. The Philalethes Society and Knights of Freemasonry Universal (KOFU) hospitality suite is were we spent quite a bit of time socializing since it was just down the hall from our room. There also was not much that we could attend on Thursday as well. We met some very cool Brothers there. Dave Daughtery of KOFU was always there with his dog Mojo to greet. Ron Tarullo was always ready with coffee or to let us know where the cold drinks were. We decided that we would go to Naval Lodge No. 4 to hear a lecture on Friedrich Nietzsche and Freemasonry by Brother Ted Berry (also a great Masonic Light contributor). On the way out the door MWB Jeff Ballou of the MWPHGL of Washington D.C. invited us to Social Lodge No. 1 but we had already told Alessandro that we would see him at Naval Lodge and were giving rides to WB Balvin Dunn and WB Rashied Al-Bay. WMB Jeff said that he really wanted us all to show up to Social Lodge next year then. We got to Naval Lodge a bit late as we were not sure exactly how to get there and when they called off from Labor to Refreshment we were able to go in after we were properly clothed. We hear another great lecture, saw more great work, and had some great socializing done at the pub across the street afterwards.

Friday, February 8th, 2008 - Socializing

We woke up early so that we could go to the Grand Council of Knight Masons "0". Reed was able to sign up because there are no Knight Masons in Utah. Justin could not because petition there was a council of Knight Masons in the state that he lived in. At this point Justin had to go run some errands. After becoming a Knight Mason, Reed then went to the Society of Blue Friars and heard a paper about Southern Baptists and Freemasonry. Reed then went to a Masonic Light Luncheon hosted for the 12th year in a row by Janet Wintermute a Mason of the Feminine persuasion. It was attended by Janet, Reed, Balvin, Alessandro, MWB Glen Cook, Piers Vaughan, Harry Lyon, Rob Morton President of Morton Books, Oliver Kruze, our new friend Ted Hogan and Jay Hochberg (who I didn't get to meet at the other end of the table) among others. Members of Masonic Light can read Janet's account at Masonic Light yahoo group by searching "And the food was good, too..." After lunch Justin returned from his errands and joined Reed for a drink in the Philalethes/KOFU Hospitality Suite. We socialized with more Brothers until we went to the Royal Society of Knights Occidental dinner. It was not a bad dinner and worth the time if you want to get the highest award that is the GCO (Grand Cross Occidental) which is awarded to anyone who attends 5 annual Convivials (meetings). Unfortunately it is usually at about the same time as the Philalethes dinner which has great speakers. We were torn that we had already obtained ticket for the RSoKO dinner. We then attended "The Elevator Degree" with William Isabelle as Master Hunter and preformed by the Pacific Northwest Players. Last years S.N.I.P.E degree was excellent and this years was no less a privilege to see as well as a great degree. The moral this year is one that we agree with whole heartedly. Those of us that work and learn to get our Master Mason degree feel slighted by those that get it in one day with no work what so ever. We also feel that the "One Day Brother's" are cheated of the opportunity to learn at great length the lessons earned through trial and open catechism. We then went to the Masonic Order of the Bath degree and Justin, WB Balvin and MWB Glen were newly inducted. Reed met with Russ Schlosser in the Knight Masons Hospitality Suite and had a great conversation with him. We then had more fellowship in the Philalethes/KOFU Hospitality Suite.

Saturday, February 9th, 2008 - Last Official Day of Masonic Week

We found out the Grand College of Rites Speaker was not going to be able to make it to the meeting so we opted to pack and check out of our room. Reed attended the Grand Master's Council "A" of the allied masonic degrees and was installed as the Tyler of Grand Master's Council. Blaine Simons was installed as Junior Warden, as well, of Utah. We then met a new friend Ted Hogan from Chicago who recently back from military service over seas. The three of us then headed upstairs for a light lunch at the hotel restaurant. After lunch Reed, Justin and our friend Ted of Chicago and Russ "Sloshz" Schlosser also of Chicago, had a great conversation about the differences between Northern and Southern Jurisdictions Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. We then left a bit early to go meet up with our friend Jenna Line who we met at last years AMD Masonic Week. We spent the evening with her until we had to take her back to the Metro so that she could get to her car in time to get home at a reasonable hour. We then drove back to Maryland ourselves.

Sunday, February 10th, 2008 - Lazy day

We sat around the house and caught up on season 1 of Heroes.

Monday, February 11th, 2008 - Blog writing and more laziness.

We watched more Heroes, sat around, started these blogs and found out the Lodge we were going to attend, Shryock Lodge 223 in Maryland, was having a sweethearts night so Reed's attempt to visit a Lodge in Maryland were going to be of no avail.

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 - Freezing rain and still no Lodge.

We went to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum and left about 5pm to try and get to Henry Knox Field 349 in Alexandria VA about 7 miles away. Well around 8pm we finally got there and the building was closed due to the freezing rain that kept us froma getting there in a timely fashion. Reed's attempt to visit a Lodge in Virginia were of no avail as well.

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008 - Sweethearts Night.

The whole reason Reed was staying in town till Thursday was to attend Justin's Lodge. They had a sweethearts night as well so Reed will have to attend Lodge in VA and MD next year.

Thursday, February 14th, 2008 - Valentines Day on a plane.

I (Reed) have finished this blog and now have to pack so I can catch my flight.
I am looking forward to seeing you all next year at AMD Masonic Week 2009.

Blog by Reed Fanning and Justin Budreau.

Allied Masonic Degrees of North America

What are the Allied Masonic Degrees? What is Masonic week?
A brief synopsis taken from this years ('08) Program

Masonic Week '07

First Posted Here....Thanks Chris!

Since MW 2008 was not our first masonic week, I'll start this blog off with last years event, a recap of Masonic Week '07.

Reed Fanning, Jenna Line, Justin Budreau, Steve Pugmire at Masonic Week '07

Last year masonic week was held at the Washington Hotel, a landmark in Washington DC. Hosting everything, from congressional banquets, to Grammy award winning stars this historic hotel has seen it all. Including for a continuous 49 years, The Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees of North America.

A little background on how we ended up at masonic week.

Meeting at Masonic week for our little group all started on an online forum called Freemason Pride.com. A masonic-based forum with 2,600 registered users, 100-200 of which are actively posting as of the writing of this article. Reed Fanning, Jenna, and Justin joined FMP in January of 2006. Steve joined later in May.
In the middle of 2006 some of the members decided a meet-up would be great idea! Trying to decide on the date however was another matter... Reed suggested to the forum that there was already a masonic meeting of sorts in the Washington DC area. Ten to fifteen members were DC area residents and said they would convene at the Hotel Washington as a formal/informal Freemasonpride.com meet and greet.
Justin offered to host two of the out-of-town members who wished to take part in the event, Reed form Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steve from Newark Delaware...

Tuesday Feb. 06, 2007 - Arrival.

The day was mostly filled with Reed flying and Justin and Steve waiting for the plane to land. Reed met Justin and Steve in person for the first time after getting off of the plane in Baltimore. We all went to Justin's house after that and just hung out and got to know each other.

Wednesday Feb. 07, 2007 - Washington D.C. Sights.

As Reed got adjusted to the time zone, we got ready for the day. We were going to the George Washington Masonic Memorial and the House of the Temple. We ended up at the GWMM about 3:00 in the afternoon and took our first tour of the Memorial. The different floors were really cool and informative. Wed took lots of pictures along the way. We started off on the George Washington Floor sponsored by the Scottish Rite Supreme Councils of both the Southern and Northern Jurisdictions. We then went to the York Rite floors. First was the Chapter floor where there ware coins from most Chapters across the USA. Then we went to the Council floor that had an audio commentary about the Egyptian style pictures on the wall, We then went to the Commandery floor which had beautiful stained glass windows. We were then conducted to the Tall Cedars of Lebanon floor on the top of the building and told a bit about it. We were then taken back down stairs and we walked around and took more pictures.

That evening we went to a lecture at the House of the Temple, hosted by Benjamin B. French Lodge No. 15.

The Lecture was a three part Lecture presented by:

Dr. William G Krach, D.O., F.A.A.F.P., (Rosicrucian);

R. Wor. Fra. Piers A. Vaughn, (Masonic Rosicrucian's, Canada);

Ill. S. Brent Morris, PhD, Noted Masonic Author.

More information about this lecture can be found at the Scottish Rite page here.

The lecture was also recorded by Eric Diamond of Xoriente.com and became a podcast there and can be listened to.

The evening was a treat for all involved and Reed and Justin got their copies of Idiots Guide to Freemasons by S. Brent Morris and Freemasons for Dummies by Christopher Hodapp signed.

Thursday February 8th, 2007 - RUN!

Our day started with twenty dollar parking, a thirty pound camera bag, and bags of books from the bookstore right next to the hotel... Thursdays events at masonic week consisted mainly of invitational bodies, or universal bodies: St. Thomas of Acon, SRCIF (Masonic Rosicrucian's), and the Sovereign Order of Knights Preceptor. None of which we belonged to. What to do? Hospitality Suites.
We roamed all around the Hotel Washington, starting with the Sky room. Signups for side degrees (Order of the Bath, Ye Ancient Order of the Corks...)were held here as well as a small dealers room, publishers, and back in the back was Chris Hodapp with a pile of books to sell and sign. Poor guy, it seems we bumped into him all weekend...

Friday February 9th, 2007 - Jenna!

We arrived in DC at around 8:30 am after a morning commute from Justin's home in Southern Maryland. Shortly thereafter we received word from another FMP member from Hagerstown that she would be visiting us for Masonic Week. As Jenna came in from the metro she and Reed played phone tag as we slowly guided her into the hotel... "your where? ok turn left, yup just keep going..." We all needed coffee. So off to the bookstore we went, to find coffee and books. Later that day, after lunch and the Society of Blue Friars meeting (Blue Friars is an invitation-only organization for Masonic authors), we toured the House of the Temple (Mother Lodge of the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction) on 16th and I St.. WHAT A BUILDING!
Later in the evening went to The Philalethes Society Feast where good food and wine was to be had. We listened to a great lecture by MW Floyd E. Bagwell who was the Grand Mater of the MW Prince Hall GL of Conn. at the time. We then met up with LeRoy Graefe, another friend from FreeMasonPride.com and Myspace. The five of us enjoyed each others company over a drink. We parted with Jenna after dinner and beverages and went to the "Snipe Degree". What an awesome degree that was. The Pacific Northwest Players, most of which were from Esoterika Lodge No. 316 and they did and excellent job. It had a good moral while still being a great time.
After the Snipe Degree, Reed and Steve did the Order of the Bath degree while Justin had a beer with Chris Hodapp in the Philalethes hospitality suite.

Saturday February 10th, 2007 - Drinks to be had!

We were lucky enough to make it to the hotel from Maryland in time for Steve and Reed to go to the Grand College of Rites of the USA meeting after we joined the day before. We all then when to the Nine Muses Council No. 13 for another great paper presentation. Reed then joined Grand Master's Council of the Allied Masonic Degrees. We then ducked around the corner to Old Ebbets Grill for a bite before heading back. While Reed was attending the Grand Council of the AMD meeting LeRoy, Justin and Steve had a drink at the cigar bar. Reed joined them after his meeting for a bit untill he had to part ways again to go to the AMD annual banquet. After the banquet we then had a few more drinks until it was time for Reed, Justin, LeRoy and Steve to go to the Cork Degree. By this time we had all imbibed a bit and that made this degree all the more special. What a fitting end to the week.
It was a great experience for Reed, Justin and Steve to attend their first AMD week. We did much saw more and more importantly made new fraternal bonds and friendships.
